I have a bit of an infatuation with hollyhocks. I spent one summer Plein Air painting in the flower field of Jim Dandy's, my favorite produce stand on Hwy 26. Then I went home to my studio and did a whole series of hollyhock paintings. This one is my favorite.
About Christa Grimm
Christa Grimm has been exhibiting her paintings for the past thirty years and has public paintings and murals throughout the state of Oregon. In addition, Grimm has created many large-scale public installations including: The Casey Eye Institute, Salem Hospital, Oregon Dental Society, Teardrop Lounge, The Dundee Bistro, WillaKenzi Estate tasting room in Carlton, and two street murals in Portland. Raised in a large family with two artist parents, she had a paint brush, a pencil or a ball of clay in hand at all times while growing up. Grimm has been steeped in the study of creative expression through visual art as a therapeutic tool for as long as she can remember.
